About Us

Tonic Gallery was established in 2015, Salcombe, where it was located on Island Street and then moved into the town centre in 2019. The gallery was founded by Greg and Charlotte Ramsden, a husband and wife duo. Tonic Gallery specialises in Marine Art of the surrounding area with a variety of artists exploring the natural coastline and has a particular focus on originals and ceramics. Since its inception, the gallery has commissioned a significant number of works by a variety of artists. Director, Greg Ramsden is an established artist, he is now an associate member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists. Hiis work collected worldwide and now on display in Tonic Gallery and in the USA at the 1780's Gallery Boston.

Tonic Gallery represents artists such as Ben Mowll President of the Royal Society of Marine Artist and now a member of the Royal Oil Institute, Mike Bernard of the Royal Institute, Lucy Pratt, Tony Williams RSMA and Greg Ramsden. Tonic Gallery also displays ceramics from across the nation by Adela Powell,  and Craig Underhill. The ceramics have a strong coastal theme intertwined within the making process, whether that be in the raw materials used, the colour of the glazes or the sculptural quality of the pieces.

We understand that galleries can be intimidating environments  but we hope Tonic Gallery isn’t one. We are always happy to help our clients find the perfect piece to suit their home and ensuring client satisfaction is more important than any sale. We pride ourselves in our relaxed, friendly approach to art buying, it is this reason that our clients come back time and time again.

We look forward to welcoming you into the gallery.
